Tips to Blogging Success

No one can debate the importance of blogging for your success as an individual and even the success of your company. But blogging can be a difficult thing to do if you're not familiar with a few simple tips that can really help your blogging become a huge success and boost your website's rankings on search engines
1. Don't Copy
One of the easy ways out in blogging is to basically copy the content of another blogger and incorporate it into your own site. However, this is one of the worst mistakes and will destroy your blogs credibility with search engines and with readers too if they discover that your content is not original. Make your content relevant and also interesting and you'll have yourself a winning combination for a blog
2. Link In
One thing I notice as I peruse various blogs is that they not only link out to other blogs and content on the web, they provide many links to previous articles that they've done. If you blog a lot, this will be easy to do since many of your posts will eventually link to each other. Once you've got links going from other sources into your blog and links going around your blog, your network of information will grow stronger and stronger. Think of a link as a trail that allows search engines and users to travel further and further into the world of your blog and explore it's content.
3. Think Structure
As you build your blog, build it in a way that it's easy to understand and the articles are easy to connect one to another. Also, don't blog just random stuff, pick a specific topic that is of interest to you and blog on that. If you blog your passion, your blog will be many times better than if you simply blog because you feel like you have to
4. Illustrate
So your a writer? That's cool, but you should also think as an illustrator. There's a reason that magazines and newspaper's have pictures and your blog shouldn't be without photos and illustrations as well. There's tons of stuff out there that you can get for free and that will allow you to post it on your blog. As with your text, be careful not to copy and if you have your own photo or can create a diagram or chart to illustrate your point that is good too.
5. Original Design
Last but not least, get an original design. If I'm looking at a blog and I see that it's a standard Blogger or Wordpress template, it's a huge turn off. Does this person not really care to have their blog be an original design? While this may be OK for someone that is simply blogging personally, it will not carry water for your professional life or business.
